The Indie School Commons (ISC) maintains the highest level of privacy concerning our members/donors’ giving and contact information. By signing up on our website, you agree to receive emails from ISC. All contact information is used for internal purposes only. Please note that contact information is required by the IRS in relation to contributions’, but is not for public inspection. Names may be published in print or electronic versions of our collateral material unless directed otherwise in writing. The Indie School Commons does not sell or trade its member/donor list with any organization.
You agree to maintain confidentiality regarding Zoom or meeting details, forum information, and member details including name, address, phone, email, or other contact information.
Image Usage
Additionally, by RSVPing to attend/join the Indie School Commons (ISC), you give your permission to use your or your child’s/children’s photograph and/or video publicly to promote ISC and its associated events, activities and programs. You understand that the images, in all formats, may be used in print publications, online publications, presentations, websites, and social media in perpetuity. You also understand that no royalty, fee or other compensation shall become payable to you by reason of such use. You also understand that if you do not want yourself or your child’s/children’s photographs or images used, you have to send a written request to indieschoolcommons@gmail.com at least 24 hours before the event/activity date to make the request and include the person(s) full name and recent photo (so we can appropriately identify the person). You also have to receive confirmation of receipt from ISC in order to ensure every attempt is made to honor your request.
Donations
Donations made on this website are managed through third party vendors such as PayPal, Square, and Stripe. Immediate payment transaction details will be emailed to the donor from the vendor. On your bank statement the donation may appear from "Indie School Commons," or "ISC."

Decorum (online and in-person)
We welcome opportunity to engage and discuss ideas and encourage you to refrain from disruptive behavior, interference of a program, non-compliance with requests from staff or security at events, trespassing, soliciting, peddling, loitering, cyber bullying, and any other behavior deemed inappropriate at our discretion. Signs, banners, posters, flags, and items deemed as a distraction or that could be used as a weapon are prohibited.
Additional provisions to this policy may apply pursuant to our agreement with a venue and/or external partners. Any person who is removed may be subject to arrest or detention by authorities for violation of this policy or the codes of the jurisdiction of the event.
Virtual Events
We aim to create a safe and confidential environment during virtual events. No photography or video recording is allowed during any virtual event. Sharing of virtual event details such a Zoom link, meeting codes, or passcodes is not allowed.
Covid-19
For any in-person events, proper mask wearing and social distancing protocols will be in place.
Assumption of Risk, Waiver of Liability, and Indemnification Agreement for ISC Sponsored Activities
You hereby give you full consent and permission for yourself, spouse, children, or children in your care to participate in Indie School Commons (ISC) sponsored activities, events, programs. You agree to all of the terms and conditions set forth below and assume all risks arising out of, or relating to your party, including, but not limited to, you and/or your spouse and/or child(ren) and/or guest(s) participation in ISC activities, events, and programs.
You specifically acknowledge that certain activities, events, and programs can involve greater risks on behalf of yourself, children, spouse, and guest(s). You acknowledge even if you, your spouse, child and/or guest(s) follows all directions and exercises with the utmost personal care there will remain irreducible inherent risks to participation in these activities and accept these risks on behalf of everyone in your party.
You acknowledge that the risks to anyone in your party include, but are not limited to, personal injury (including emotional/psychological harm), serious bodily harm (e.g. serious injury to bones, joints, muscles, tendons, and other skeletal components, neck or spinal injury, exertion, and dehydration), permanent and temporary disability, complete or partial paralysis, Covid-19, viruses, disease, and death. You acknowledge that anyone in your party may be exposed to substandard facilities and equipment, unforeseen circumstances and occurrences, including but not limited to, illnesses, accidents, weather conditions, large crowds, terrorist attacks, the need to use third-party vehicles, and other unusual events and situations. Additional risks to anyone in your party include, but are not limited to, damage to or loss of personal property or other economic damage and loss. You agree that anyone in your party will also assume these risks and any other risks arising out of, or relating to, their participation in ISC activities, events, and programs. Consequently, ISC, its employees, agents and volunteers will exercise judgment regarding the extent of direct supervision afforded the students on an age-appropriate basis. You accept the potential risks associated with this practice. This waiver and assumption of risks will remain in effect at all times anyone in your party is engaged in any ISC activity, event, and program.
You understand that ISC is not responsible for any potentially damaging, incorrect, or problematic content shared during events and activities. All information and advice is given with good intent and the expectation is that parents and/or guardians will provide proper context, additional information, accuracy when/if needed. You assume all responsibility for information shared by and/or provided by ISC. Information provided by ISC is not meant to be legal counsel and parents/guardians assume all responsibility for advising your party appropriately.
Waiver of Liability
To the full extent permitted by law, you and your party voluntarily release and covenant not to sue ISC, its trustees, officers, directors, employees, agents, representatives, and volunteers ("the Released Parties") from any and all claims and liabilities that arise out of, or relate to, your party's participation in ISC activities, events, and programs. The terms thereof shall serve as a release and assumption of risk for your heirs, estate, executor, administrator, assignees, and for all members of your family and party. You understand, however, that through this Terms & Policies, you are not releasing the Released Parties from any injury anyone in your party suffers as a direct result of the Released Parties' intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
Indemnification Agreement
You agree to indemnify the Released Parties for any and all claims and liabilities that might be alleged against the Released Parties arising out of, or relating to, your child's and/or your party's reckless disregard or intentional misconduct associated with ISC activities, events, and programs.
You expressly agree that the Terms & Policies, assumption of risk and indemnity/hold harmless agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the law of the State of Texas and that if any portion thereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect. The Terms & Policies supersedes and replaces all prior negotiations and agreements proposed or otherwise, written or oral, concerning the subject matter hereof. This is a fully integrated agreement. If any provisions of the Terms & Policies shall be held to be invalid or unenforceable for any reason, the remaining provisions shall continue to be valid and enforceable.
You have read this assumption of risk, waiver of liability, indemnity/hold harmless agreement, at ISC sponsored events, and fully understand its terms, and understand that you give up substantial rights, including your right to sue. You acknowledge that you are agreeing to this freely and voluntarily, and intend by your participation at ISC activities, events, and programs to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law. This agreement will remain in effect for the duration of your party's participation in ISC or until a new agreement is executed.
